Subject SPEED SURVEY- BELLEVUE AREA

ISSUE

Speed survey in Bellevue area of the city.

DISCUSSION

Surveys indicated the following:
A total of 414 vehicles were checked, 25 arrests were made 18 for speeding. Bellevue Avenue speeds range from 14mph to 45mph with 14 speed arrests and 5 other arrests. Speeds are higher during rush hours.
Zip codes for violators 23221, 23222, 23225, 23226, 23227, 23228, 23111.

Fauquier Avenue- speeds range from 18mph to 38 mph with 1 arrest for speeding and I other arrest.
Zip codes for violators- 23227, 23229

Old Brook Road- speeds range from 26mph to 43mph with 3 arrests for speeding and 1 other arrest.
Zip code for vio1ators- 23227 x 2,  23222.

CONCLUSION

Bellevue Avenue many vehicles do exceed the speed limit as cut through traffic. It is a 25 zone with most speeding arrests around 40 mph.
Fauquier Avenue-very little traffic maybe a speeder every once in a while.
Old Brook Road- everyone exceeds the limit, highest average sped among all roads checked It was not checked at rush hour as others were
