At the 3d District Leadership Council workshop on June 12, 1999, Councilman Bill Johnson gave the BCA the first Outstanding Neighborhood Award.

We tried photography and scanning and utterly failed to get an image that could be read here.  Sorry.  The Real Thing is gold on wood grain and it says:

Outstanding Neighborhood Award
Presented
To
Bellevue Civic Association
June, 1999
For vision, vitality and commitment
to building strong neighborhoods
that foster great partnerships in
The Capital City of
The Commonwealth of Virginia

Clearly this is our Councilman applying the "more flies with honey than vinegar" rule, but you should not let your cynicism overwhelm the reality here.   This Association has a distinguished history.  Under Bob Almond and Holly Anna Jones and Chuck Epes the BCA has flourished and achieved a string of successes, some of which are recorded in these web pages.  This tribute recognizes the important work the BCA is doing to make Bellevue a better place.

Congratulations to Holly Anna and to Chuck and to us all.
